On-Site Employment and Training

The Native Education and Training College can help you train your community members in as little as 12, 16,  20 or 40 weeks.

On-site employment and training courses are designed to meet the communities and students’ needs and may take place with as little as four students. With a small student-to-instructor ratio, each course is tailored to meet the need of the individual community.

Instructors currently working in the field provide on-site programs geared to career preparation through theoretical and practical hands-on training. Employment and Training programs encourage job advancement and high levels of job competency by incorporating with community infrastructure projects such as housing, plumbing and road building.


Admission Requirements:

Students must be classified as ‘mature’ in that they are 19 years of age or older, have been out of school for at least one year, or have a Secondary School Diploma. Prerequisites, if any, are course specific and are available from the Native Education and Training College Corporate Office. Students will be registered by a community selection process.

Start Dates:
Work placements and on-the-job training will be incorporated into community infrastructure projects on an on-going basis.

Duration:
Work placements and on-the-job training will be scheduled for 12, 16, 20 and 40 week sessions.

The students will also focus on additional job readiness training options that will provide them with the skills to write a resume, obtain and conduct an interview, and how to tap the hidden job market. There will also be life-skills options such as Time Management, Communications, and Personal Life Management.
